
Cooling water flows from the main engines through the construction of the nozzle. This application of nozzle cooling has the advantage that, by rotation of the propeller, the flow rate of the (sea)water along the nozzle is always high, particularly when the main engines run full powered. This guarantees high efficiency cooling!
The first ship with nozzle cooling has been delivered to the customer. The performance of this nozzle has extensively been tested in the Netherlands and in the warm Middle East. Other nozzles will be tested this year.
