Service job well done

After 5 years of active operation, this tug was up for its 5-year inspection. Together with our trusted US service representative Ships Machinery International, we dismounted both Barke® Flap Rudders and successfully performed an overhaul during dry docking.

The clearances of the rudders were measured, and the condition of the rudder stocks were thoroughly checked, which were all in a perfect state. To ensure the performance of the rudders, the sealing and linkage system of both rudder blades were overhauled. After that, both rudders were mounted back, and a swing test was performed to make sure everything was working perfectly. The video shows the swing test of one of the rudders.
