DMC’s service team recently performed a service job on one of the two blue Barke®️ High-Lift flap rudders. These rudders belong to a 154 x 22m cruise ship. We equipped this vessel with the two rudders during newbuild in 1997.

Now, after 24 years of operation, the starboard rudder had to undergo some service to extend its already long life in such a demanding role. The job was performed in close cooperation with our trusted Singaporean representative Scanvik.

After the parts of the starboard rudder were replaced, the aft ship was fully painted and both flap rudders were tested to confirm that everything worked perfectly, with great success. The rudders are now good to go, for many years to come.
