DMC supplied a 30-ton stern frame for a special icebreaker

For this project, Damen Marine Components’ (DMC) factory in Poland manufactured the 30-ton stern frame and aftship construction. We will supply the icebreaker with a complete steering system including rudders and steering gear, hydraulics and controls. DMC’s complete scope of supply was designed and produced in compliance with the requirements of Polar Class 5.

Most of DMC’s products are manufactured in our wholly owned factories in Poland and China. Next to our standard range of products, DMC’s production plants carry out a significant share of third-party steelwork. This production to customer’s drawings is not confined to the maritime and offshore markets only. Also, construction and various other sectors seeking the production, or technical processing of steel and aluminium components are relying on DMC.

Our factories in Poland and China have ISO 9001, ISO 14001 and ISO 4500 certification. Both factories are recognised as approved manufacturers by the classification societies BV, LR, ABS, RMRS, CCS and NK to ensure that all manufactured components are of high quality and in compliance with the regulatory requirements. China adds DNV-GL, Poland adds ISO 3834.
