Stern Force Measurement
In general, all rudder movements create resistance, which automatically increases fuel consumption. BOSS™ Stern Force Measurement gives insight into the steering behaviour and resistance created by the rudder. It measures the rudder force acting on the vessel. The measured data is send to the Stern Force Measurement display, which is located in the wheelhouse, and can be transferred to the ship’s navigation system.

Saving fuel by reducing rudder movements
With the real-time data of BOSS™ Stern Force Measurement you can improve the course of the ship by reducing rudder movements .This results in significant fuel savings and improved manoeuvrability.
It is advised to combine BOSS™ Dmc Cloud Connect (DCC) and Data Logging Function (DLF) with the SFM application to log and access the measured data. This allows to access past and present measurements at all times and at a remote location.
